Suzanna Shahbazian
Suzanna Shahbazian (born 18 October 2004) is a Canadian rhythmic gymnast.[1] She's the 2022 Commonwealth Games team gold medalist and a silver medalist with ball. She also is a medalist at the Pan American Championships.

Personal life
She began gymnastics at age four, her idols are Russian rhythmic gymnasts Alina Kabaeva and Liasan Utiasheva. Her dream is to partecipate in the World Championships.[2]
Career
Junior
Suzanna entered the Canadian team in 2017, the following year she was 4th with hoop and ribbon atÉlite Canada, 2nd at the Quebec Championships and won two gold medals with clubs and ribbon at the Quebec Games.[2] In 2019 she competed at Élite Canada ending 3rd in the All-Around, 5th with ball as well as winning silver with rope and bronze with clubs and ribbon.[3] At the Canadian championships she was 4th in the All-Around, 4th with clubs and rope, won bronze with ball and gold with ribbon. That year she was selected for the Junior Pan Am Championships in Monterrey, winning silver in teams.[4]
Senior
In 2020 she became a senior but the season was cut short because of the Covid-19 pandemic she returned to competition a year later at nationals, where she won silver in the All-Around, with hoop, with clubs and with ribbon as well as gold with ball.[2]
In 2022 she competed at the World Cup in Portimão taking the 20th place in the All-Around, 12th with hoop, 21st with ball, 21st with clubs and 25th with ribbon.[5] In July she took part in the Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro, where she won silver with hoop and bronze with ball and in the team category.[6][7] In August she competed at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where she won gold in teams along Carmel Kallemaa and Tatiana Cocsanova as well as silver with ball.[8][9][10] Later that month she was at the World Cup in Cluj-Napoca, finishing 22nd in the All-Around, 30th with hoop, 19th with ball, 17th with clubs and 27th with ribbon.[11] A month later Shahbazian was selected for the World Championships in Sofia where she ended 35th in the All-Around, 35th with hoop, 30th with ball and 38th with clubs.[12]
