T K Group of Industries
The T K Group of Industries is a Bangladeshi industrial Conglomerate known for its vegetable oil business.[2][3] It also has interests in steel, shipbuilding, pulp and paper, plastics, cement, and textiles.[4] The conglomerate is headquartered in Chittagong. The group is one of the top VAT payers in the country.[5]

History
T. K. Group of Industries was established in 1972 as a trading company by two brothers, Mohammed Abu Tayab, and Mohammad Abul Kalam.[6] The brothers started the business with a two thousand taka grant from their father.[7] It is the largest producer of edible oil products in the country.[8] The annual turnover of the group is over US$ 5 billion.
TK Group established Samuda Chemical Complex Limited in 2006.[9]
In December 2007, the group donated 1 million BDT to a relief fund established by Bangladesh Army.[10]
Super Petrochemical Private Limited, a subsidiary of T K Group of Industries, signed an agreement to Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority to establish an oil refinery and a LPG terminal in Moheshkhali Upazila in September 2017.[11] It launched Eagle Dhewtin (corogated iron sheets)) in October.[12]
Chairman of T. K. Group of Industries, Mohammed Abu Tayab, died in February 2018 in United Hospital Limited, Dhaka.[13]
In May 2019, a mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion fined T K Group of Industries subsidiary Super Oil Refinery Limited, which makes Pusti Oil, 7.5 million BDT for selling expired oil.[14] Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution had found adulteration in Pusti mustard oil produced by Shabnam Vegetable Oil Industries Limited, another subsidiary of T K Group of Industries.[14]
T K Group of Industries announced plans to invest 17.44 billion BDT in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar in September 2020.[3] Samuda Food Products Limited, a sister concern of T K Group of Industries, announced plans to invest 205.28 million USD to establish factories in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar.[15] During the COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh, TK Group donated 20 ventilators to Chattogram Field Hospital, Chattogram General Hospital, Chattogram Medical College Hospital, Parkview Hospital, and Surgiscope Hospital.[16]
In 2021, T K Group of Industries had a turnover of 258 billion BDT.[7] In January, Samuda Food Products Limited started construction in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar.[17]
Shabnam Vegetable Oil Industries, a subsidiary of T K Group of Industries, received a government contract to supply five thousand ton lentils to the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh in May 2022.[18] Mohammad Abul Kalam, director of T. K. Group of Industries, is a director of North South University.[19] Samuda Construction Limited, located in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar, started production in October.[20]
T K Group of Industries announced plans to establish a rice mill in Naogaon District in 2023.[21]
