Ted Giovanis

Ted Giovanis (born December 28, 1945) is an American healthcare professional, author, and professional sports car driver.[1][2] He is best known as the president and founder of the Jayne Koskinas Ted Giovanis Foundation for Health and Policy,[3] an organization dedicated to conducting research in the policy and clinical realms.[4][5][6]

Early life and education

Ted Giovanis was born on December 28, 1945, in Baltimore, MD. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in accounting from Baltimore College of Commerce.[7] He also holds his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Baltimore.[8][7][9]

Giovanis is a fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.[8][7]

Career

Ted Giovanis has made contributions to the healthcare industry, particularly in the areas of Medicare and Medicaid payment, regulation, and regulatory processes.[4][10] Throughout his career he has held various management and reimbursement/payment positions within hospital systems, including serving as a chief financial officer (CFO), controller, and internal auditor.[10]

Giovanis is highly regarded for his role in identifying and prosecuting the rural floor budget neutrality issue, a matter that resulted in a multi-billion-dollar settlement for hospitals across the United States.[6] His expertise and strategic reimbursement advice have been sought after, and he has provided such services as the president of T. Giovanis & Company, LLC and TGC, LLC.[9][6]

Aside from his accomplishments in the healthcare field, Ted Giovanis is also recognized as a professional sports car driver and team owner. He is the owner and driver for Team TGM in the International Motor Sports Association.[4][11][6][10]

Ted Giovanis began his professional racing career in 2006, participating in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.[12][13]

In 2020 he secured a remarkable victory in the International GT Mission Foods GT3 Championship, an esteemed competition within the International GT series.[2]
