Tontawan Tantivejakul

Tontawan Tantivejakul (Thai: ต้นตะวัน ต้นติเวชกุล; born 7 November 2000) also known as Tu Tontawan is a Thai actress and model.[2] She first appeared in Ink Waruntorn Paonil's music video alongside Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul.[3][4] Her acting debut as a female lead was in F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, Thai adaptation of Hana Yori Dango manga[5] alongside Bright Vachirawit Chivaaree,[6] which gained her international recognitions. She won '2022 Best Actress of the Year' awards twice.

Early life and education

Tontawan was born in the city of Bangkok in Thailand on November 7, 2000.[2] She is the younger sister of the Thai actor and musician, Tonhon Tantivejakul.[7] Her mother is a communication arts professor at Chulalongkorn University, while her father works in advertising.[3]

She attended Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration School for elementary and received her entire secondary education from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School. Currently, she is studying dentistry at Chulalongkorn University and balancing her acting career.[8]

Career

In 2020, at the age of 19, Tu appeared in Ink Waruntorn Paonil's music video for her song "Disappointed" (เหนื่อยใจ) with Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul.[3][4] Later that year, she signed a contract with GMMTV. In September 2020, official announcement was made through a teaser that she would debut in the Thai adaptation of Hana Yori Dango manga, F4 Thailand.

In 2021, Tu starred in F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers as the female lead "Gorya", alongside Bright Vachirawit Chivaaree.[5] She made her acting debut along with Jirawat Sutivanichsak and Hirunkit Changkham. The series was aired on December 18, 2021, which gained her both worldwide popularity and best actress awards.[9][10][11]

In September 2022, she played "Maki" in romance anthology 'Zero in the Moonlight', a short series 'Magic of Zero' alongside Jirawat Sutivanichsak who played as her love interest.[12][13] During the GMMTV "2022: Borderless" event, it was announced that Tu would play the lead role of "Kongkwan" in 10 Years Ticket alongside Ohm Pawat Chittsawangdee. The series aired on December 14, 2022.[14]

In February 2023, Tu appeared as "Bee", in the new fantasy series Midnight Museum, a guest role she took up has she’s concurrently pursuing dentistry.[15]

Tu is popular face in the fashion industry. She endorses fashion brand such as Burberry, Prada, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Miu Miu, Kenzo, Gucci, Chanel, Adidas and Bvlgari[16][17][18][19][20][21][22] She was celebrity guest in Bvlgari's exclusive pop-up event celebrating"Iconic Serpenti Jewellery".[23][24] She appears on Harper's Bazaar and Vogue magazine regularly.[25] She featured in GRAZIA Singapore, during launch of its first issue.[26]

Personal life

Tu's lifestyle includes travelling and photography. She has opened an dedicated account 'tuprefersyouwithgrain', where she shares pictures taken by her film camera.[27] By March 2023, she has more than 4.2M followers on her Instagram account.[28]
