Vamsoddharakudu

Vamsoddharakudu (transl.Heir) is a 2000 Telugu-language drama film directed by Sarath. It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Ramya Krishna, Sakshi Shivanand, Krishnam Raju with music composed by Koti.[1][2] It was produced by M. S. Reddy under the Gayatri Films banner. The film was not successful at the box office.[3]

Plot

The film begins with Suryam firing up on the industrialist Rajagaru. Whereat, an intense conflict arouses and Suryam shoots him. Following, Anand & Ashok the vagabond sons of Rajagaru bribes wicked police to finish off apprehending Suryam. So, they stir him to a remote area for an encounter. Anyhow, Surya batters them, absconds into the forest, and spins rearward. Sudarshan Rao, a malice brother-in-law of Rajagaru predominates over his property and makes his sons puppets. Suryam acquires a job in their college as Physical Director / PD and lives with his widowed mother Varalakshmi. He contretemps with the vainglory daughter of Sudarshan Rao, Surekha and they crush. Alongside, charming Satya joins as Suryam's junior and entices him but in vain.

Once on a tour at Khajuraho, Satya implicates Suryam in a rape attempt when the college committee decides that Suryam should knit her. Nevertheless, Suryam imparts the truth from Satya that it is a subterfuge of Sudarshan Rao to create a rift between Suryam & Surekha. Plus, she has done it to rescue her ailing father, Sambasiva Rao. Enraged Sudarshan Rao reaches Suryam's quarters and gets startled witnessing Varalakshmi. This minute, he seeks an answer from Suryam that why his mother is living like a widow despite his father’s existence. Listening to it, Suryam stuns, questions his mother, and learns Rajagaru is his father. Meanwhile, Sambasiva Rao spots Varalakshmi lands therein and divulges the past.

25 years ago, Varalakshmi is a servant at Rajagaru’s house when his wedding arrangements are in progress with Sudarshan Rao’s sister. One night, Pandu, the cousin of Varalakshmi, makes a loot when accidentally Rajagaru kills him. On the spot, Varalakshmi incriminates herself to protect Rajagaru when he discerns her virtue, acquits and splices being unbeknownst of her kin with Pandu. Exploiting it, begrudged Sudarshan Rao cabals on Varalakshmi’s pregnant ceremony Seemantham mingling Sambasiva Rao by blemishing her chastity. Hence, Rajagaru edicts Varalakshmi to live as a widow. Presently, unfolding his sin Sambasiva Rao dies, leaving Satya’s responsibility to Suryam.

Forthwith, Suryam approaches Rajagaru when Anand makes a raid on him to grab the money. However, Suryam safeguards and attains a post at him. Step by step, he wins his credence and procures a position for Satya too when she genuinely loves him. Meanwhile, Sudarshan Rao forcibly sends Surekha to Rajagaru's home where the love birds reunite which makes Satya back up. Parallelly, Rajagaru is aware of Anand's swindle & Ashok's debauchery nature which out-turns his reputation and kicks off two. Grief-stricken Rajagaru proclaims to Suryam that he met possessed a virtuous heir like him which makes him stand on cloud nine. Sudarshan Rao detects Suryam’s presence at his father, ruses to engage Sirisha with Anand, and warns Varalakshmi who hinders Suryam.

Thus, Satya pauses it, brings the fact to light, and proves the eminence of Varalakshmi. Rajagaru feels remorseful and advances to Varalakshmi but hesitates due to his sons. Ergo, furious Suryam assaulted when indeed, anguished Rajagaru attempted suicide, and Suryam barred him, but it was too late. As of today, Sudarshan Rao wiles by issuing shoot-at-sight for Suryam. Knowledge of it, Rajagaru rushes to the forest with Satya & Surekha. After a fierce fight, Suryam ceases the baddies and reforms his brothers but tragically Satya dies while guarding him. At last, Rajagaru again provides Varalakshmi with the status of his wife. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Suryam & Surekha.
