William Tonge (MP)

William Tonge was a vinter and politician serving as an Alderman in London and Member of Parliament representing part of London, he died in 1389.[1]

Tonge served as a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for City of London in 1377, 1380, and 1388.[2] He also served as an Alderman for the Vintry district between 1377-1378, Aldgate district in 1381-1382, and Tower district in 1385.[2]

A remaining legacy of Tonge can be found at the All Hallows-by-the-Tower church where he donated one of the first brasses.[3][4]
