Yuriy Chertkov

Yuri Dmytrovych Chertkov (Ukrainian: Юрій Дмитрович Чертков, Russian: Юрий Дмитриевич Чертков) is a Ukrainian politician and businessman. He was the people's deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine V (2006-2007), VI (2007-2012), and VII (2012- 2014) convocations. After the events on the Maidan in 2013-2014, he quit politics.[1]

Biography

Yuri Chertkov was born on May 16, 1962[2] in Donetsk, Ukrainian SSR.[3]

From 1981 - 1983 he served in the armed forces in the group of troops of the USSR in Germany.[4]

1981 - graduated from Enakievo Metallurgical College, specialty: mechanical engineer. Around this time, he met Rinat Akhmetov.

2002 - graduated from Donetsk National University, specialty: economist.[4]

Lives in Kyiv now.

Business

From 1983 - 1985 - a student of an underground miner,[5] then an underground miner at the Chelyuskintsev mine.

From 1985 - 1986 - a repairman at the Donetsk Cotton and Paper Mill.[6]

From 1987 - 1988 - foreman of the section of machine tools with numerical control at the Petrovsky Mechanical Repair Plant.[6]

From 1997 - 2006 - the owner of the state of emergency "Petrovskoe."[6]

Since 2004 - honorary president of the equestrian club "Pegasus."[6]

He had declared 125 millions UAH in 2013.[7]

The owner of Equestrian Sports Complex Donbas Equicentre and tournament Donbas Tour.[3]

Political career

From 2006 - 2007 he was the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 5th convocation from the Party of Regions of Ukraine faction.[2]

From 2007 - 2012 Chertkov was the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VI convocation from the Party of Regions.[8]

From December 2012 to November 2014 - People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VII convocation from the Party of Regions.[9]

After the events on the Euromaidan in 2013-2014, he quit politics.[1]

Awards

On May 16, 2012, he was awarded the Order of Merit, III degree.[5]

Private Life

He is divorced.[3] Ex-wife Evelina Anatoliivna Zuban (1975) is housewife.

Daughters Julia (1997) and Eva (1998).[4]

In 2014, he gave his Aston Martin to People's Deputy Oleh Liashko.[10]
