The site has been part of many controversies like hosting the video of the Christchurch mosque shootings and for being linked to trolling campaigns, and sometimes play a role in bolstering tiger parents when dealing with autistics.

History

The site launched as CWCki Forums in 2013, as a place to discuss Chris Chan, a webcomic artist.[2][3]

In late 2022, due to an organized complaint campaign, it was taken down by its DDoS protection provider Cloudflare and later by its ISP Zayo. In November 2022, the website was blackholed by ISP GTT Communications, after someone made a threatening email via a Google.com address, effectively cutting off access to the website for 50% of internet users.
