Mito, Ibaraki
Mito (水戸市, Mito-shi) is the capital city of Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan.[1]

It has been recognized as a special city since 2001.[2]

Mito was a major center of historical and philosophical studies during the Edo period.[3]
