Parthenon Frieze
The Parthenon Frieze is a marble sculpture that was sculpted sometime between around 443 and 437 BC, probably under the direction of Pheidias. They can also be referred to as the Elgin Marbles. They originate from the Athenian Acropolis, Greece. Elgin left the embassy in 1803 and arrived in England in 1806. The collection remained private for the next 10 years.
