Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex

Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Forfar, KG, GCVO, CD, ADC(P) (Edward Antony Richard Louis; born 10 March 1964)[2] is the youngest child of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and thus a member of the British Royal Family. He is also a sibling to King Charles III. He married Sophie Rhys-Jones (born 20 January 1965) on 19 June 1999, the day he was made Earl of Wessex.[3] They have two children James, Viscount Severn and Lady Louise Windsor.[4]

Background

He was born at Buckingham Palace in London, and is the third son and fourth child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. At the time of his birth, he was third in the line of succession to the thrones of ten independent states; however, after additions to the Royal Family, and an evolution of the Commonwealth, Edward is currently eleventh in line to the thrones of 16 countries.

He lives in the United Kingdom. He also helps govern in other countries where his mother is queen.
