Public administration
Public administration has two meanings. First it means putting into action government policy. Second, academics study this, and prepare civil servants for working in the public service (the non-political part of the government).
Public administration helps government work better by improving governance and improving policies. Public administrators manage government programs and translate policies into programs and services that citizens use every day. At universities, public administration professors study public decision-making, analyze policies, and consider how to improve policies and programs.
