Unix time
Unix time is the number of seconds that have passed since the initial epoch defined as Tuesday 1 January 1970 00:00:00 UTC.[1] It is used mostly in Unix-like and many other operating systems. People can check Unix time on most Unix systems by typing date +%s on the command line.
