Dastar

A dastār (Punjabi: ਦਸਤਾਰ/دستار, from Persian: دستار) which derives from dast-e-yār or "the hand of God",[1][2] is a headwear item worn by Sikh people. It is an important part of Sikh culture. The word comes from Persian through Punjabi. In Persian, the word dastār can describe any kind of turban.
