Douglas Applegate
Earl Douglas "Doug" Applegate, Jr. (March 27, 1928 – August 7, 2021) was an American politician. He was a member of the United States House of Representatives from Ohio. Applegate was a Democrat.[1] He ran for President of the United States in the Democratic Party primaries for the 1988 presidential election.

By 1994, Applegate had served almost two decades in the House, and opted to retire.[2] He was succeeded by Bob Ney.
Applegate died on August 7, 2021 in Spring Hill, Florida, aged 93.[3]
