Frederik was born by emergency Cesarean section at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, He is the elder son of Queen Margrethe II and the late Henrik, Prince Consort, He have one brother Prince Joachim of Denmark

Crown Prince was married to Mary Donaldson in 2004, They have four children and have an twins with their marriage, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella and Twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, They were born in Rigshospitalet.
