Career
Günter Praschak went to school in Hollabrunn (Lower Austria) and played for the local club SV Hollabrunn. After the Second World War he came to Salzburg and played for SAK. He also played Icehockey. 1953 he went to LASK. 1955 he came to SV Austria Salzburg till 1958. After a short time with LASK he came back to Austria and played there till 1966.[1]
Managing career
1957 he was playing coach of Austria Salzburg. From 1965 to 1969 and 1973 till 1975 he was coach of the team. 1970-71 he was coach of SK VOEST Linz, also from 1979 to 1981. For this clubs he also was technical manager. From 1984 to 1987 he was coach of the Austrian U23 national football team.[2]
As manager of Austria Salzburg he brought Karl Kodat, Horst Hirnschrodt or Peter Grosser to Salzburg. He also was very much engaged in the plans for a new stadium in Lehen, which was finally opend in 1971. It was the homeground of Austria Salzburg till the opening of the EM Stadion Wals-Siezenheim in 2003.
