Joe Davis

Joe Davis British Born April 15, 1901 to July 10th 1978 Born in Whitewell, Derbyshire, England Died in Hampshire. The worlds snooker champion in 1927 up until his retirement in 1946. He turned professional in the year 1919 and went on to score a total of 689 century breaks holding the world title for a maximum break of 147. Awarded the order of the British Empire in 1963. He was known as the "grand old man". He was the world champion 15 times.
