José Freire Falcão

José Freire Falcão (Brazilian Portuguese: [ʒoˈzɛ ˈfɾej.ɾi fawˈkɐ̃w]; 23 October 1925 26 September 2021) was a Brazilian Roman Catholic cardinal. He was the Archbishop of Brasília.[1] He was also the Cardinal-Priest of San Luca a Via Prenestina when he was made a cardinal in 1988. He was born in Ererê, Brazil.

Freire Falcão died on 26 September 2021 at a hospital in Brasilia, Brazil from COVID-19, aged 95.[2]
