Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya
Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya (Arabic: معاوية ولد سيد أحمد الطايع, Ma‘āwiyah wuld Sīdi Aḥmad aṭ-Ṭāya‘, also transliterated as Mu'awiya walad Sayyidi Ahmad Taya) (born November 28, 1943) is a Mauritanian military officer and a politician. He was the President of Mauritania from 1984 to 2005. He was also the 5th Prime Minister of Mauritania.[1]
