Michal Hornstein
Michal Hornstein (September 17, 1920 – April 25, 2016) was a Polish-born Canadian businessman, art collector and philanthropist. He was born in Kraków, Poland. He moved to Canada after surviving the Holocaust (he was of Jewish descent).[1] He became a citizen in 1957. He was known for donating money to art museums and schools in Quebec. In 1984 he was made a Member of the Order of Canada. In 1993, he was made a Knight of the National Order of Quebec. He was made Officer in 2002 and Grand Officer in 2013.[1]

Hornstein died at his home in Montreal, Quebec on April 25, 2016, aged 95.[2]
