Peter Nichols
Peter Richard Nichols[1] CBE, FRSL (31 July 1927 – 7 September 2019) was an English playwright, screenwriter, director and journalist. His best known works were A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, Passion Play and Poppy.

Nichols was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2018 New Year Honours for services to drama.[2]
Nichols died on 7 September 2019 at the age of 92.[3]
