Rei Ayanami
Rei Ayanami (綾波 レイ, Ayanami Rei) is the main character in Neon Genesis Evangelion. In 1996 and 1997, she was listed as the best female anime character by the journal Animage. She was born in the underground laboratory, but lost her memories. It is known that she has many "spare bodies", which are used for her reincarnation, if she dies. In the Italian dub she is voiced by Valentina Mari.
