Ruth Handler

Ruth Marianna Handler (nee Kosvo; November 4, 1916 – April 27, 2002) was an American businesswoman and inventor. She was the president of toy manufacturer Mattel. She helped invent the Barbie doll.

Handler was born in Denver, Colorado. She died from complications of colon cancer surgery at age 85 in Los Angeles.[1]
