Ryanair

Ryanair is an Irish low-cost airline. It was started in 1985. It is based in Dublin Airport and London Stansted Airport. Ryanair goes to 165 cities. These are mostly across Europe. Ryanair has a fleet of 505 Boeing 737 aircraft.[1]

History

Ryanair was founded in 1985 by Irish businessman Tony Ryan. It carried 82000 passengers in its first year of operations.[2]

In 1998 the airline ordered 45 Boeing 737-800 aircraft. This order was followed up in 2001 with additional order for 155 737s.[3]

In 2013 Ryanair announced that it would be introducing a number of customer service improvements in the coming months in an attempt to improve its image.

Ryanair announced in 2018 that it would be buying Austrian low-cost airline Laudamotion from motor-racing champion Niki Lauda. The airline was subsequently renamed Lauda. Lauda was shut down in late 2020, with the business's assets being transferred to the Malta based company Lauda Europe.[4]
