Tabyin-ul-Kalam

Tabyin-ul-Kalam was an Urdu-language book. It was written around 1862[1] by Syed Ahmed Khan.[2] It was written as a commentary on the Bible.[3] It has a comparative study of Islam and Christianity in order to improve the relationship between British people and Muslims.[4] He proved from this book the basic "similarities between Islam and Christianity".[5]

In the first discourse of Tabyin-ul-Kalam, he deals with “the necessity of coming of Prophets to save mankind” based on Quranic studies.[6] In the second volume of his Tabyin ul-Kalam,[7] the advocacy of a non-literal reading of the Qur'an (and the Bible) is found.[8]

Although due to lack of resources this work was not finished, yet it showed Syed's commitment to improve relations.[9][10]
