Takao Saito

Takao Saito (Japanese: 斎藤 隆夫さいとう・たかを, Hepburn: Saitō Takao, November 3, 1936 – September 24, 2021[1]) was a Japanese manga artist.[2] He did not like to call his work "manga" and called it "gekiga" instead.[3] He was best known for Golgo 13. It is the oldest manga still in publication.[4][5]

Saito died of pancreatic cancer on September 24, 2021 at the age of 84.[6]
