Tosu, Saga

Tosu (鳥栖市, Tosu-shi) is a Japanese city in Saga Prefecture on the island of Kyūshū.

History

In 1874, disagreements with the central government of Japan became an armed conflict. This was called the Saga Rebellion (佐賀の乱, Saga no ran).[1] This involved regions of the modern city.

  • March 12, 2011 opening of the Shin-Tosu Station (新鳥栖駅, Shin-Tosu-eki) which is operated by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu).[2] The design won an international award.[3]
