Vladimir Fortov
Vladimir Yevgenyevich Fortov (Russian: Владимир Евгеньевич Фортов; 23 January 1946 – 29 November 2020) was a Russian physicist. He was director of the Joint Institute for High Temperatures from 1992 to 2013. He was president of the Russian Academy of Sciences from 2013 to 2017.[1] In 1991, he became a member of the academy.

Fortov died on 29 November 2020 in Moscow from COVID-19 at the age of 74.[2]
