Glen Powell
Glen Thomas Powell Jr. (born October 21, 1988)[2] is an American actor. He began his career with guest roles on television and small roles in films such as Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003) and Fast Food Nation (2006) before landing a leading role in the comedy-horror series Scream Queens (2015–2016). He starred in the teen comedy Everybody Wants Some!! (2016) and the romantic comedy Set It Up (2018), and portrayed astronaut John Glenn in Hidden Figures (2016) and aviator Thomas Hudner in Devotion (2022).

Powell gained wider recognition for his supporting role in the action film Top Gun: Maverick (2022) and his leading role in the romantic comedy Anyone but You (2023).[3]
Early life and education
Glen Thomas Powell Jr. was raised in Austin, Texas.[4] He is the son of Glen Powell Sr., an executive coach, and Cyndy, a homemaker. He has paternal Lipka Tatar ancestry, from a great-great-grandfather Mustapha (a.k.a. Stephen) Chutsky.[5] Powell graduated from Westwood High School in northwest Austin in 2007, where he played high school football and lacrosse.[6][7] He attended the Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin but left before finishing his degree, but expects to complete the requirements in spring 2023.[8]

Powell's acting career began while working with Antonio Banderas and Sylvester Stallone in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over.[9] In 2007, before his first year of college, Powell landed a role in The Great Debaters, directed by and starring Denzel Washington.[10][11][12]
Since moving to Los Angeles, he has acted in television series such as Scream Queens, Into the West, Jack & Bobby, CSI: Miami, NCIS, Without a Trace, Rizzoli & Isles, and The Lying Game, along with the feature films like The Expendables 3, Ride Along 2, Sex Ed, Stuck in Love, The Dark Knight Rises, Hidden Figures, and Top Gun: Maverick.[13]
He co-starred as Finnegan in Everybody Wants Some!!, Richard Linklater's spiritual sequel to Dazed & Confused, which was filmed in Austin and released by Paramount on March 30, 2016.[14]
He starred opposite Zoey Deutch in Set It Up, a romantic comedy on Netflix.[15] Powell and Sydney Sweeney starred in the 2023 romantic comedy Anyone but You, which emerged as a sleeper hit.[16]
Personal life
Powell started dating model Gigi Paris in 2019; their breakup became public in April 2023.[17][18] Powell is a licensed pilot. Tom Cruise, his co-star in Top Gun: Maverick, paid for him to attend flight school.[19] Powell declares himself a devout superfan of the Texas Longhorns.[20]
