Ranjitha

Ranjitha is an Indian former actress and alleged politician, said to be currently serving as the Prime Minister of the fictional micronation of Kailaasa,[1] which she has been developing with religious leader Nithyananda since 2023.[2][3][4] As an actress, she has acted in a number of Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada films during her film career.[5]

Prime Minister of Kailaasa

In 2023, a website associated with Nithyananda displayed the name 'Nithyanandamayi Swami' alongside an image of Ranjitha, bearing the title of the Prime Minister of Kailaasa, a self-proclaimed Hindu state.[6][7]

Personal life

In 2010, Nithyananda said he was in a relationship with Ranjitha, and officially made the announcement of both of them living together as partners official.[8][9]

In 2010, Sun TV telecasted a video recording that claimed to show Ranjitha and Nithyananda in a bedroom. The story became viral among news media in Tamil Nadu.[10] They both claimed the video to be fabricated and accused Sun TV of extortion.[11] A Forensic Sciences Laboratory in Bengaluru confirmed that the video appeared to be that of Nithyananda and Ranjitha.[12] Ranjitha filed a complaint with High Court of Karnataka against news channels.[13][14] Various news channels were ordered to apologize to Ranjitha for violating the complainant's privacy and dignity.[15][16][17][18][19][20]

In 2013, she took up sannyasa under Nithyananda.[21][22]
