pacept (tr. or intr., 1st conj., pres. pacepu, pacep, pacep, past pacepu)

1. to roast, fry or bake something a little, for a short time

   lai nu maize vēl pacep! ― may the bread (be) baked a little further!

   uzber sīpoliem karoti miltu, vēl pacep, atšķaida ar buljonu ― he sprinkles a spoonful of flour on the onions, then he fries it a little, then he dilutes it with the (chicken) broth
