sixer (plural sixers)

1. (cricket, colloquial) A shot in which the ball passes over the boundary without touching the ground, for which the batting team is awarded 6 runs; a six.
2. A Cub Scout or Brownie who leads a group of six. Whence also Senior Sixer.

     Many packs have a sixer's council where the sixers, and sometimes the seconds, meet with Akela and some of the other leaders.

3. (slang) A prison sentence of six months.
   • 1869, A Merchant. Editor: Frank Henderson, Six Years in the Prisons of England

     The copper knew I did that job, and had me up on suspicion some time after, and gave me a drag (three months) over it. The next bit I did was a 'sixer' (six months), and I escaped from prison in about three weeks after I got it.

4. (slang) A six-pack of a beverage.
