Add the current date to a cell

There are many situations where you may need to enter the current date in a cell. Although you can type it manually, this can become tedious if you have to enter the date frequently. Luckily, there is a keyboard shortcut that makes it even faster: Ctrl+;. To use this shortcut, simply hold down the Ctrl key and then press the semicolon key, and it will instantly add the current date.

Similarly, if you need to add the current time, you can use the Ctrl+Shift+; shortcut. Just hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys, then press the semicolon key.
