Mass Effect 2 is a 2010 science fiction adventure video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, and the PC. A sequel to 2007's Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 puts players in the role of Commander Shepard, a military officer on a mission to hunt down the mysterious Collectors. The game gives the option to buy different pets as a recreational distraction between high-stakes missions. Players can use their high ranks in either the Paragon (good) or Renegade (evil) personality ranges to receive store discounts on each pet. Once purchased, the pets appear in the Captain's Cabin aboard the Normandy SR-2 spaceship (the player's home base). The guide below describes where to buy each kind of pet and how much they cost.

Buying Pets at Citadel Souvenirs

1Travel to the Citadel. The space station is located in the Serpent Nebula on the galaxy map. The galaxy map can be accessed on the Combat Information Center (CIC) deck of the Normandy.

2Go to Level 27 in the Zakera Ward. You can walk there or use a fast-travel transit terminal (found in various locations) to teleport there.Advertisement

3Enter "Citadel Souvenirs" and access the terminal. If you have enough Renegade or Paragon points, speak to the shopkeeper about getting a store discount. Select the blue (Paragon) or red (Renegade) dialogue option to persuade her.

4Purchase pets from the item list. The prices for each pet are as follows:
- Space Hamster can be bought for 9,200 credits, or 7,666 credits with a store discount. Illium Skald Fish and Thessian Sunfish can be bought for 500 credits, or 416 credits with a store discount.
- Note that the Thessian Sunfish will not appear in the store inventory until after you've completed the "Horizon" mission.

1Travel to llium. It is located in the Tasale System of the Crescent Nebula on the galaxy map. The galaxy map can be accessed on the CIC deck of the Normandy.

2Head to the door near the stairs that leads to Liara's office.

3Walk through the docking authority section to the next door.

4Go to the farthest kiosk on the left, located in the merchant's section.

5Speak to Ereba, the Asari next to the kiosk. If you have enough points in either the Paragon or Renegade personality ranges, you can persuade her to deal with her boyfriend troubles. Both dialogue options lead her to give you the discount.

6Access the kiosk and choose the pet from the item list. The only pet available is a Prejek Paddle Fish. It can be purchased for 8,000 credits, or 6,666 credits with a store discount.
Warnings
- If you do not feed your fish on a regular basis (after each mission or after traveling to several places) they will die. You will have to scoop them out. You can buy more fish at Memories of Illium and Citadel Souvenirs. If you strengthen your relationship with crew member Kelly Chambers (your personal assistant), she will offer to feed your fish in your absence.⧼thumbs_response⧽
