Steps
Manually Updating Firefox

1Open the Firefox app. It's a round icon depicting a fox curled around a globe.

2Click on the ☰ icon and select Help from the dop-down list.Advertisement

3Click on About Firefox. Firefox will open a dialog box, then automatically check for and download any available updates.
Note: This will not work on Linux if you installed Firefox through a package manager like APT or YUM. In that case, you have to update Firefox through your package manager.[1]

4Click on Restart Firefox to Update in the dialog box. The updates will be installed when Firefox relaunches.
Configuring Automatic Updates

4Click on Advanced. It's at the bottom of the menu on the left side of the window.

5Click on Update. It's a tab at the top of the window.

6Select a "Firefox updates" setting. Click on the radio button next to one of the following:
- "Automatically install updates (recommended: improved security)"
- "Check for updates, but let you choose whether to install them"
- "Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk)

7Close the tab by clicking on "x" next to the tab for "Options". Your update settings are now configured.
