So lipstick-lovers, you want to get your lipstick rid off your lips. However, you also don't want to end up with a red clown makeup around your face. It is not too easy to remove a darkly coloured lipstick, but it is doable.

Method 1
Method 1 of 2:

Using a Wet Cloth

  1. 1
Take a clean cloth. Wash the cloth under running tap water, until a part of the cloth becomes wet. It is not necessary to wash the whole piece of cloth, just wet the cloth until the wet part is sufficient enough to cover your finger.
  2. 2
Cover your finger with the wet cloth. Make sure that the wet part covers the finger. With the help of the covered finger, follow the shape of your lips. Do so until you are sure that the colour of the lipstick is gone completely. If you wipe past the edges of your lips too carelessly, you could end up with a clown face.

  3. 3
Apply a chap stick on your lips. A chap stick (also known as lip balm) keeps your lips moisturised and healthy.

Method 2
Method 2 of 2:

Using Oil

  1. 1
Use oil (any oil, like coconut oil). Oil is also helpful to remove the lipstick. It softens the applied lipstick, making it easier to remove.[1] Apply some oil on your lips and keep it at least for 30 seconds. This will give time to the oil to soften the colour of the lipstick. Thus, removal will be easier.
  2. 2
Wash your hands before touching your lips again. Before you touch the lips again, you'll have to wash your hands to remove the mixed oil and lipstick from them.
  3. 3
Wipe your lips using a tissue. Oil can be hard to remove from a washcloth, so instead of cloth, you can use a tissue paper. Tissue will remove the lipstick colour better than a cloth and is also disposable.
    • Make sure that you have waited for 30 seconds after applying oil on your lips. Also make sure that the tissue paper you take is unused. Using the tissue paper, wipe your lips following its shape.
  4. 4
Remove the excess colour. Just follow the steps given below:
    • Take another fresh tissue paper and wipe your lips with that.
    • Once you're done with that, wash your lips with plain water. Take a clean napkin/towel and dab your lips with the napkin/towel.

I would absolutely recommend oil cleanser for removing lipstick at the end of the night. There's some amazing ones out there. When applying the cleanser, it starts off as oil. As you rub it into the skin of your lips and add water, it develops a milky consistency and turns into a cleanser.

Instead of using the makeup wipes, try applying some oil to your lips to remove your lipstick. Leave the oil on your lips for about 30 seconds before wiping it off.
