Dried bananas are useful as snacks and for decorating desserts and cakes. This version is simple and does not use any preservatives which can sometimes cause allergic reactions.

1Peel the banana(s). Slice each banana in 1⁄2 centimeter (0.2 in) - 1 centimeter (0.4 in) slices.

2Arrange the slices on a microwave roasting rack or plate stacker. You may also use any microwavable container.Advertisement

3Microwave on the defrost mode for 10 to 15 minutes, or until slightly sticky to touch. If you smell burning a few minutes into microwaving them, remove them and make sure it's in defrost next time.

4Remove from the microwave. Transfer the slices to a wire cake rack.

5Allow to stand overnight.
