How to Reduce Lag on Roblox

Lag in Roblox can be very annoying. It can make it harder for you to continue playing. There are a number of steps you can take to improve the performance on your Roblox game. You can reduce the graphics quality, improve your internet connection, or even delete textures in the game. This wikiHow teaches you how to improve lag on Roblox.

Reducing the Graphics Quality in Roblox

Launch any Roblox game. To launch a Roblox game, go to https://www.roblox.com/home, and click any game on the page. This displays the game information page.

Click the Play button. It's the green button with a play triangle to the right of the game image on the game information page. This launches the game in the Roblox player.
- If you don't have the Roblox Player installed, a window will pop-up in the center of the screen. Click Download and Install Roblox in the center of the window to download the installer. Then click the install file to install the Roblox Player.

Press Esc or click ☰. It's the button with three horizontal lines in the upper-left corner of the screen. This displays the menu.

Click the Settings tab
. It's the second tab at the top of the page. This displays the Settings menu.

Set Graphics Mode to "Manual". Click the arrows next to "Graphics Mode" to toggle between "Automatic" and "Manual". When Graphics Mode is set to "Automatic", Roblox automatically optimizes the graphics quality for your computer. Setting it to "Manual" allows you to set the graphics quality yourself.

Lower the Graphics Quality. To lower the graphics quality setting, click the button with the minus sign (-) next to "Graphics Quality" in the "Settings" menu. This lowers the graphics quality by one bar. The graphics quality is lowest when there is only one blue bar.

Improving Your Internet Connection

Restart your modem or router. Roblox is an online game. If you have a poor internet connection, it can affect your game. If your internet connection is lagging, unplug your modem or router and plug it back in to restart it. Then wait a few minutes for it to reboot.

Shut down all apps and internet-connected devices. If you have a large number of other apps running while you play Roblox, close these apps. Also turn off any smartphones, tablets, video game consoles or video streaming devices that are connected to your network.

Use an ethernet connection. If you are connecting to the internet wirelessly, you can get a more stable connection if you use a wired connection. Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports on your modem or router an ethernet port on your desktop computer or laptop.

If you have a desktop computer that is older than 5 years, or a laptop older than 3 years, you may need to upgrade your computer hardware. You can install a new graphics card yourself, or hire a computer professional to install it for you.

Upgrade your computer processor. Roblox recommends a computer processor that has a clock speed of 1.6 GHz or better and no older than 2005. You can install a new processor yourself, or hire a computer professional to install it for you.

Add more RAM to your computer. Roblox recommends at least 1 GB of RAM. Each computer requires a different type of RAM chip. Once you identify the type of RAM chip your computer needs, they're pretty easy to install. You just need to open your computer and insert them in their proper place.

Deleting Textures On Windows

Please note that this will be reversed next time Roblox has an update. It is usually suggested to keep textures because they make everything look more realistic and interesting.

Click the Windows Start menu
. It's the icon with the Windows logo in the lower-left corner in the Windows taskbar.

Type Run. This searches for the Run app.
