Using the Public Folder

When you install dropbox, a folder named Public is automatically created. The public folder is an easy way to share single files with Dropbox. Any file you upload in your public folder will receive its own Internet link so that you can share it with others. Another benefit to using the public folder, is that the files can be accessed by anyone, even non-Dropbox users. The links also work if your computer is turned off. Here is how to use the public folder:

Click a file, and drag it to your public folder. The file will now be allowed access to anyone who has the link for it.

To get the link for your public files:
- Open Dropbox.
- Open the Public folder.
- Right-click on the file you wish to share, this will open the drop-down menu.
- Click copy public link.
