How to Unblock Someone on Snapchat

This wikiHow teaches you how to unblock a Snapchat user whom you had previously unblocked. If you haven't blocked the person on Snapchat, they won't appear in the unblocking section of Snapchat.

Steps

Open
Snapchat. Tap the Snapchat app icon, which is a white ghost on a yellow background. This will open the Snapchat camera interface if you're logged into your account.
- If you aren't already signed into Snapchat, tap LOG IN and enter your username (or email address) and password before proceeding.

Tap your profile icon. This Bitmoji face is in the top-left corner of the screen.
- If you don't use Bitmoji with Snapchat, this icon will resemble the silhouette of a person's head and shoulders.

Tap the "Settings" gear
. It's in the top right corner of the screen.

Scroll down and tap Blocked. This is in the "ACCOUNT ACTIONS" section at the bottom of the page. Doing so brings up a list of people who you've blocked.

Unblock someone. Tap X to the right of the name of the user whom you want to unblock.

Tap Yes when prompted. This will unblock the user, allowing you to contact them again and vice versa.^{[1]

Add the unblocked user as your Snapchat friend again. Depending on the other person's privacy settings, you may need to add them to your friends list (and have them add you back) in order to chat with them again.
- You can add people by searching their usernames or scanning their Snapcodes.
- You may need to wait up to 24 hours to add someone back if you've deleted them from your friends list.

You may need to add the unblocked person as a friend again, and that person may need to add you back as well, depending on their privacy settings. Once you're both friends again, you can send and receive Snaps without seeing the "Pending" message.

If I sent a message to someone and then blocked them before they saw it, will they be able to see it if I unblock them?

If it has been 24 hours, I don't think so. It's the same when someone sends you a sentence in the "chat" and you don't open it. It expires after a day so they can't see it.

Warnings

You'll need to re-friend someone after unblocking them if you want to go back to being Snapchat friends, which means they'll know that you unfriended them at the very least.
