History

Korvpalliklubi Pärnu (Basketball Club Pärnu) was founded in 2000. KK Pärnu's first team joined the top-tier Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML) for the 2006–07 season.[2] The team debuted in the Baltic Basketball League (BBL) in the 2012–13 season. In 2016, KK Pärnu finished third in the Estonian Cup.[2]

On 12 July 2017, KK Pärnu announced that the team will withdraw from the forthcoming 2017–18 KML season due to financial difficulties.[3] However, the team would stay in the KML after reaching an agreement with KK Paulus.[4]

In the 2019 KML Playoffs, Pärnu Sadam defeated AVIS UTILITAS Rapla in the quarterfinals, but lost to BC Kalev/Cramo in the semifinals and finished third after beating TalTech in the third place games. In the 2021 KML Playoffs, the team defeated Tallinna Kalev/TLÜ in the quarterfinals and AVIS UTILITAS Rapla in the semifinals, reaching the finals for the first time in their history, but lost the series to BC Kalev/Cramo, one game to three. In the next season, Pärnu Sadam advanced to the KML Finals for a second consecutive year after defeating AVIS UTILITAS Rapla in the quarterfinals and BC Kalev/Cramo in the semifinals. This time, the team won their first KML championship by defeating Tartu Ülikool Maks & Moorits 3–0 in the finals.[5] Andris Misters was named Finals MVP.

After failing to qualify for the 2022–23 Basketball Champions League, the team competed in the 2022–23 FIBA Europe Cup, but failed to advance past the regular season.
