Battle of El Fasher

The Battle of El Fasher was a battle for control of the town of El Fasher in North Darfur during the 2023 Sudan conflict.[1]

Events

Background

In December 2021, looting and violence occurred around the former United Nations base in the town, that was used logistically by UNAMID.[2]

Battle

The town had one of the first ceasefires of the conflict, after Tribal leaders negotiated a truce.[3] The ceasefire had been in place as of 2 May.[4]
