Stout unsuccessfully challenged incumbent Brad Witt in 2018 and 2020.[3] In the 2022 election, he beat Democratic opponent Anthony Sorace for the seat.
Committees
Stout was originally appointed to the Committee on Business and Labor and the Committee on Economic Development and Small Businesses. However, he was removed from them following a sexual abuse allegation.[4]
