Bryce Leatherwood

Bryce Leatherwood (born February 4, 2000) is an American country singer. He is the winner of season 22 of the American talent competition The Voice at the age of 22,[1] He has the distinction of being the 1st winner of the show to be a Wild Card artist during the live playoffs. He competed in the team coached by Blake Shelton, taking him his 9th win as a coach on the show.

Early life

Leatherwood was born February 4, 2000, in Woodstock, Georgia to Hope and Cliff Leatherwood. He grew up singing and playing the ukulele throughout middle school. Leatherwood attended Sequoyah High School and often performed at assisted living facilities, where he sang and played the guitar for residents. During college, Leatherwood pursued singing further by frequently performing in bars and clubs.

Career

The Voice (2022)

In 2022, Leatherwood entered the 22nd season of The Voice. In his blind audition, he sang Blake Shelton's rendition of Conway Twitty's "Goodbye Time". Three of the four coaches, John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton turned their chairs for him. Leatherwood chose to become a member of Team Blake.[2] He made it to the finale & won the season on Dec. 13, 2022.

2023–present: After The Voice

Since winning The Voice, Leatherwood has played at his coach Blake Shelton's bar chain, Ole Red on multiple occasions. He has travelled to Tishomingo, Oklahoma; Orlando, Florida; and Gatlinburg, Tennessee to play at many of Ole Red's locations. Leatherwood also plans to move to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue music full time.[3]

Personal life

Leatherwood attended Georgia Southern University, studying for a degree in business. He currently resides in Statesboro, Georgia.[4]
