Chung Kuo, Cina

Chung Kuo, Cina ([ˌtʃuŋˈkwo ˈtʃiːna], "Zhongguo, China") is a 1972 Italian documentary directed by Michelangelo Antonioni. In May 1972, Antonioni and his crew arrived in China and started their five-week trip in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou and Linxian. Although Antonioni complained that he only had time to catch a quick glance of China, he still managed to cut the footage into a three and a half hour documentary Chung Kuo, Cina (1972) that was released on ABC in 1972 and shown on RAI in 1973. Antonioni was invited to China by its government to film the documentary, but the result was subsequently attacked as slanderous by Chinese authorities and the Italian Communist Party.[1] It primarily observes the lives of contemporary working class Chinese people. And it gives an idea of what China looked like during the Cultural Revolution.
