DPS is affiliated with Cambridge University and offers a highly developed and holistic educational programme for girls from 2 years to 19 years. DPS is offering preschool, primary education, secondary education and preparation for the International GCSE.

History

DPS was established in 1983 by Ahmed Dawood. He took the initiative to promote education[1]among women. Offering Science, Mathematics, and popular electives like Global Perspectives[2] and English Literature,[3] the school serves classes from Nursery to O Levels.

Faculty

Faculty of DPS comprises a Principal,[4] with a Section Head each for its Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Sections. Teachers are highly qualified subject specialists and well trained for each role.[5][6]

Events and achievements

Sports

Sports is a popular extra-curricular activity at DPS. Inter-School Throwball,[7] Cricket,[8] Volleyball[9] and Basketball Competitions are well attended.

Connecting with community

World Wide Fund for Nature Pakistan arranged a Nature Carnival at PAF Museum, Karachi. The school has joined hands with WWF to increase the awareness about the protection of environment and follow the green revolution ambitiously.

Embedding values of public service, DPS Festival of Lights[10] donated funds to Bait-ul-Sukoon Cancer Hospital and Hospice,[11] and to Lady Dufferin Hospital.

Spreading the wonders of Science, Sabrina Dawood[12] [13] envisaged a one-of-a-kind science exhibition, which formed the grounds for MagnifiScience Centre. Notable intellectuals DrAtta-ur-Rahman, Ameena Saiyid attended the event amidst many others. The DPS campus opened its gates to the community of Karachi, Thatta, Badin District etc for three days of engagement and hands-on learning.

DPS Evening Session offers free education to underprivileged[14] students. The Dawood Development Unit serves the differently-abled[15] in an endeavour to integrate persons with special needs into mainstream education.
