History

Ivy Collegiate Academy was founded in 2005 by Dr. Lee Yuan Hei. Dr. Lee’s vision was to develop an American style boarding school that would educate future leaders.

Dr. Lee’s vision of educating future leaders is incorporated into the curriculum as well as student activities. Every senior must take Lives of Consequence, a two day a week course on ethics and leadership.

Also, the Academy believes that students should be part of this management of the school. Therefore, the student government (STUGO) operates a peer tutoring service and a 9pm snack service as well as committees on food, greening, fundraising, activities and community service.

Also, ICA utilizes the prefect system where senior and junior prefects assist resident hall advisors in dormitory operations.

ICA’s program of Leadership through Service involves the entire school in service projects such as Common Good Day. In November every house develops and implements a community service project.

ICA has adopted the Down Syndrome Association of Taiwan for both joint programs and fund raising. Each year ICA also raises funds for an orphanage in Nepal that helps earthquake victims has donated money to help earthquake victims in Taiwan.

ICA is an innovative and vibrant student centered school what encourages students in their pursuit of becoming responsible leaders of their generation.
