Gameplay
The tournament features six former Jeopardy! champions competing round-robin style, with ten hour-long episodes featuring two games each, for a total of twenty games.[3][4][5] For both the quarterfinals and the semifinals, just like in Sports Jeopardy! and Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time, dollar amounts are replaced with point amounts. The two winners from the previous episode will play against each other + another randomly selected contestant[lower-alpha 1] in the second game of the next episode. Prior to the finals, "Match Points" will be awarded based on the contestant's final place: 3 points for 1st place, 1 point for 2nd place, and 0 points for 3rd place. At the end of the quarterfinals, the two contestants with the fewest Match Points are eliminated from the show. Entering the semifinals, these point values are reset for each remaining contestant. At the end of the semifinals, the contestant with the fewest Match Points is eliminated. If at any point there is a tie during and/or following the quarterfinals and/or semifinals, it is broken by the following criteria in this order: the number of games won, the total number of correct responses for that stage of the competition (including Final Jeopardy!), the cumulative total score excluding Final Jeopardy! and Daily Double wagers, and the cumulative total score excluding only Final Jeopardy! wagers. During the finals, the winner is awarded based on the traditional dollar values over the two games.[6] In addition, the audience is shown the exact position of the Daily Doubles during the games.
