Little Girl Blue (2023 film)

Little Girl Blue is an upcoming docudrama film written and directed by Mona Achache about her mother's life, starring Marion Cotillard as Achache's mother.[7][8] The film is a co-production between France and Belgium and will have its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in the Special Screenings section on 21 May 2023.[9]

On 7 January 2020, it was announced that France's CNC had granted an advance on earnings to Mona Achache's documentary project Little Girl Blue,[16] whose production details were yet to be formalized.[17]

On 10 December 2022, it was announced that Achache had recently filmed a docudrama about her mother's life starring Marion Cotillard as the director's mother and that Achache would also star in the film.[7] The editing process started on 2 January 2023.[18]

The film is a co-production between France's Les Films du Poisson with France 2 and Belgium's Wrong Men and RTBF.[2][3] Tandem will distribute it in France.[2] Sales are handled by Paris-based company Charades.[2]

Filming

Filming took place in Mulhouse in the Grand Est region of France between 20 November and 10 December 2022.[19][7]

Marketing

The first poster for the film was unveiled on 24 April 2023.[20]
